I've spent my life learning how to bring ideas to life.

I'm Todd Hahn. trebledmind brings together my engineering experience, music, curiosity about flight, and the things I'm learning to build with AI.

Music came first. Computers weren't far behind.

01 / MUSIC + COMPUTING
The common thread is creativity.

I started playing music as a kid and eventually began writing and arranging it. In the 1980s I discovered the Commodore 64 and taught myself BASIC, making little programs simply because I could.

I originally entered college as a Music Education major. After working in the college computer lab, I changed direction and moved into computers and software. The two interests never really separated.

I've spent more than 30 years in software engineering, moving from databases and systems work into application development, architecture, distributed systems, cloud environments, and technical leadership.

Music and technology both let one person create something bigger than the tools themselves.

I've written music for church, children's choirs, community bands, and personal projects. I've arranged music with modern notation and recording tools and continue to play trumpet in community bands.

I believe the bridge between music and technology is creativity: taking an idea that exists only in your head and finding a way to make it real—and, ideally, make someone else feel something.

I discovered another way to learn about flight.

02 / FLIGHT + SIMULATION

Another way to learn about flight.

I first encountered Microsoft Flight Simulator on a Commodore 64. Years later, after exploring the possibility of becoming a pilot, I turned back to simulation and began building my own simulated cockpit.

I didn't want flight simulation to be only a game. I wanted to use it as a way to learn. That question eventually became the seed for flight trAIner.

I was skeptical. Then I started building with it.

As a traditional software engineer, AI initially felt both exciting and unsettling. I started with simple experiments, then began using AI as a sounding board for ideas and engineering problems.

Eventually I asked a simple question: what if an AI could observe a flight simulation session and teach me what I was doing wrong? That question became the first architectural conversations around flight trAIner.

The result has been a deliberate reinvention: learning AI by building real systems rather than treating the transition as a collection of courses or certifications.

Three decades of engineering. A new frontier of possibility.

My professional experience spans more than 30 years of hands-on software development, architecture, and technical leadership. Today, I'm extending that foundation into AI engineering through both professional work and independent experimentation.

TrebledMind is where I explore what becomes possible when human creativity, engineering experience, and artificial intelligence work together.

I remain actively involved in software engineering, including design, coding, debugging, testing, and architectural decisions. The balance between my own implementation work and AI assistance varies by project.

With flight trAIner, I've taken an AI-assisted development approach. I drive the vision, requirements, architecture, technical direction, and validation, while ChatGPT and Codex contribute substantially to technical exploration and implementation. I review, test, challenge, and refine what we build together.

The goal isn't to replace engineering expertise with AI. It's to discover how that expertise can be amplified through collaboration.
